A large 3-bedroom house built on the edge of a dam in the middle of vineyards with majestic views of the surrounding Cape Winelands and mountains, Cape Town and Table Mountain. Situated on a farm between Stellenbosch and Somerset West off the R44. The house, a contemporary interpretation of Cape Vernacular Architecture was designed to make the house part of its surrounding landscape through the steel portal frame gables ends and pitched roofs mimicking the mountain peaks in the background, the use of natural materials and the main focus on the views from inside over the dam, vineyards and surrounding mountains. Bringing the outside inside with large windows and doors opening up the whole house towards nature.
